The beauty of imperfection in plant parenthood

Summer Vibes in Europe

The weather has so much to do with my mood, I'm like a tropical plant in this way. I don’t do well in winter, and I'm learning to love spring. But being from Louisiana - I'm the small percent who craves humidity.

We have had a constant rotation of visitors, which means all the plants get all kinds of neglect.

This past weekend was a French Holiday for the end of WWII and Mothers day in the USA, so we had my mom visiting and my partner's family - full house! My french nephew, who’s 5, decided to water my lemon tree propagation (that has no saucer underneath) while no one was looking - he ran over to me as he noticed the flood of water “there is water everywhere but I don’t know why because I didn’t do it”. It’s moments like this that stand out, not when everything's going perfect but the small moments of oopsy! And I'm sure the roots were happy.

Everyone seems to be drawn to this small corner of the plant sanctuary, a sunny window to look out and some vintage thrifted chairs to cozy up in with coffee. It’s where I work from and write to all of you, and its filled with the energy of so much more - plants from all corners of the map.

I’ve noticed in my plant parenthood, they all seem to do ok with the little bit of neglect that seems to happen with my irregular schedule of life, and fun fact using Grow Queen plant food helps balance over and under watering.

This week we’re headed to our Dordogne country house to do some gardening, so be sure to sign up for our email list to get updates from The Crown Club Column.

and if you've made it this far, tell me in the commentsif you enjoy reading the little moments of my plant life here in France.

Sending you Sunshine!

Molly
