In the heart of Grow Queen lies a journey of awe and discovery, sparked by the profound realization that the bond between humans and plants mirrors our connection to ourselves and the world around us. This epiphany led us to confront the unsettling truth about synthetic fertilizers: products designed to promote life, yet paradoxically burdening our planet with significant environmental costs. Synthetic fertilizer production accounts for nearly 2% of global energy consumption and contributes heavily to greenhouse gas emissions, compelling us to seek a different path—one that aligns with the rhythms of nature and the health of our environment.
Meet Our Team
Dan Mills — Founder & Head Grower
Dan started Grow Queen in his Denver garage with a simple belief: plants and the earth deserve better. After years of studying plant physiology and experimenting with sustainable soil systems, he created a product line that combined science, sustainability, and artistry.
What began as small-batch blends soon became the Cadillac of aroid care—luxury, science-backed mixes and organic fertilizers trusted by plant lovers everywhere. Under Dan’s leadership, Grow Queen has skyrocketed in its first year, expanding into farmers markets, Amazon, and national retail stores.
Dan is passionate about proving that what’s good for plants should also be good for the earth. His work is rooted in care, precision, and sustainability—making it easier for growers of all kinds to see their plants thrive.
When he’s not mixing soils or crafting new formulas, you’ll find him playing basketball, spending time with his son and fiance, or potting rare aroids.
Molly — Head of Wholesale & OperationsÂ
Molly has been with Grow Queen since day one—long before the first product was finalized. She and Dan connected instantly over their shared passion for plants and business, and she’s been helping shape Grow Queen’s growth ever since.
A Louisiana native turned world traveler, Molly has WWOOFed her way across farms around the globe, giving her a deep appreciation for soil, sustainability, and the ecosystems that connect us all. Now working remotely from France, she leads Grow Queen’s wholesale program and drives sales, business development, and team operations ensuring that the brand grows as strong as the plants it feeds.
Creative at heart, Molly can often be found painting by the beach or reaching for a cutting to propagate. She brings strategy, vision, and global perspective to the team—helping Grow Queen scale while staying rooted in its values.
Sophia — Marketing & Design Lead
Sophia brings Grow Queen’s story to life through marketing, graphic design, and website experience. From TikTok strategy to sleek packaging and digital design, she ensures every detail feels true to our brand’s luxury, sustainable roots. She also supports fulfillment and farmers markets, blending creative vision with hands-on dedication.
A lifelong creative, Sophia has a passion for music and design that flows into her work. Whether she’s working on new visuals, refining our website, or shaping campaigns, she helps Grow Queen look as vibrant and alive as the plants we serve.
Shaylen — Content & Community Growth
Shaylen is the creative force behind much of Grow Queen’s Instagram, YouTube, and email content, and she manages our affiliate partnerships. She crafts blog posts, newsletters, and longform videos that connect with plant lovers and tell Grow Queen’s story in fresh, engaging ways.
Beyond content, Shaylen is also a successful artist, bringing her storytelling instincts and creative flair into everything she touches. From digital campaigns to in-person customer experiences, she ensures Grow Queen’s voice feels authentic and connected.
When she’s not writing or editing, you’ll likely find her painting, exploring Colorado, or caring for her own collection of houseplants.
